Synopsis / Notes

"On April 14, 2004 we (Jeff Bowen and Hunter Bell) received an email about a new musical theatre festival that was accepting submissions for original works. With the deadline only three weeks away and nothing in the can to contribute, we wrote a musical to submit to the festival about writing a musical to submit to the festival.

We explored what it takes to create, and examined the voices in our heads that both inspire us and keep us from creating. When the three weeks were up, lo and behold, we had a new musical called [title of show], ready to submit.

With the help of our lady-friends Heidi and Susan, we continued on a non-stop adventure through festivals, dramaturgy, rejection, praise and hysteria and learned a bunch of stuff along the way.

[title of show] is a musical that follows its own journey from inception to opening night."
