Synopsis / Notes

In the moonlight, a family of gypsies camp on the outskirts of the forest and gather by the fire to tell stories, as they do every night. Suddenly, a wolf howl from within the forest reminds them of a particular story from their collective past, and giving out 'roles' they proceed to bring the story to life. We are introduced to Red, an ancestor with bright red hair who lived 'once upon a time'. This is a true story, we are warned, and is different to the versions written down over the years....

"Red - A New Musical" is a 5-hander musical, based on what is probably one of the world's oldest stories. Featuring a non-stop musical score encompassing a wide range of musical styles, this story is told almost completely in song - including the numbers "Her Name Is Red", "I'm Your Man", "Basket On The Ground" and the ghostly ballad "In Any Way At All"
