Synopsis / Notes

The Legend of Pearl Hart chronicles the exploits of Pearl Taylor Hart, a young Canadian woman who, in the 1890's, became famous when she robbed a stage-coach. The resulting press coverage dubbed her 'The Daring Arizona Female Bandit' and made Pearl an overnight media sensation. In her growing fame and notoriety, she attracted the constant scrutiny of the law, male admirers and interest from the suffragette movement which included a jailhouse visit from Emma Goldman.

The Legend of Pearl Hart careens from Victorian love to western crime to the pages of yesterday's newspapers. Based on true events from turn of the century America - the Wild West Show to vaudeville - Pearl's story of love, adventure and fame is presented with evocative music and a cast of colorful characters.
