Trevor Nunn
From Acorn Antiques website
Having run both the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre (for a total of twenty-four years), and directed some original works for the musical theatre (such as Cats, Les Miserables , Starlight Express, Sunset Boulevard and The Woman in White), he was greatly honoured to be asked by Mrs Overall and her team to assist her in the staging of his long-awaited realisation of a musical fantasia on Acorn Antiques.
He hopes his experience with Shakespeare, Chekhov, Ibsen, Pinter and Stoppard, his work at Glyndebourne and the Royal Opera House, and his encounters with such fledgling musical pieces as Oklahoma!, My Fair Lady and Anything Goes, has helped him to understand some part of Mrs Overall' vision, especially since she believes his own film and television work had a great deal in common with the techniques pioneered in Acorn Antiques, the television series
