Greg Cullen
Greg was born in the Irish community of north West London. He was appointed writer-in-residence with Theatre Powys in 1983. Among the works created there, Taken Out, which was recorded by the BBC and won a Sony Award. In 1985, he founded the Mid Powys Youth Theatre. Serving as Artistic Director for over twelve years, he wrote and directed multi-award winning productions of Raging Angels, Tarzanne, Whispers in the Woods and Frida and Diego. The company appeared twice at the Royal National Theatre.
He was appointed writer-in-residence at the Welsh College of Music and Drama for whom he wrote An Informers Duty. Greg has written extensively for radio and television and won the PICS award for his short film "Birdbrain". He was Associate Director for Hijinx in Cardiff, for whom he wrote and directed Paul Robeson Knew My Father. In 2002, Greg was appointed Artistic Director of The National Youth Theatre of Wales.
